Capabilities Autonomous SOC

Capability · Autonomous SOC

An autonomous SOC that does the work and shows it.

ApexAI takes the alert stream from your SIEM and EDR, works each case to a conclusion with the evidence attached, and brings people in only where a human decision is needed. Every step is recorded and can be reviewed.

Status: Preview Triage, investigation and entity cases run in observe mode next to analysts; closing, notifying and containment on a customer’s systems are switched on step by step after review.

The problem it addresses

Most security teams receive far more alerts than they can read. Many alerts describe the same activity on the same machine or account, many are routine operations such as backups or patching, and the few that matter arrive mixed in with the rest. Analysts spend their day opening, checking and closing, and the real attack story is spread across a dozen tickets.

ApexAI is built to take over that routine work. It reads every alert, checks it against what is normal for the machine or account involved, works out whether it belongs to a larger story, and writes down what it found. People see conclusions with evidence, not a queue of raw alerts.

What the Autonomous SOC does

  • Triage every alert

Each alert is read, deduplicated and placed with the host, account, IP address or application it concerns. Routine activity that matches the entity’s own normal behaviour is recognised as such.

  • Investigate to a conclusion

Cases are enriched from your own logs and threat intelligence, and each one ends in a short brief: what happened, why it matters, which evidence supports it, and what is still unknown.

  • One case per story

Related alerts on the same entity and the same attack story are kept together, so a single intrusion becomes one case with one timeline instead of many tickets.

  • Propose the response

When action is warranted, ApexAI prepares a proposal with the evidence, the exact change, its expected effect and how to undo it. A person approves before anything changes.

  • Learn from settled outcomes

When analysts close cases, the result is compared with what ApexAI concluded. Disagreements are reviewed so the system improves on your environment, not on generic assumptions.

  • Report in plain language

Notices lead with the entity and its behaviour: which account, which machine, what was blocked and what passed, and what is recommended next.

How a case moves through ApexAI

  1. 01

    Connect

ApexAI reads alerts and logs from your SIEM and EDR with read-only access.

  2. 02

    Understand

Each alert is tied to the entity it concerns and compared with that entity’s usual activity.

  3. 03

    Investigate

Related evidence is gathered and the case is written up as a brief with its sources.

  4. 04

    Decide

Clear cases are concluded with a recorded reason; uncertain ones say so and state what is missing.

  5. 05

    Hand off

Only the decisions that need a person reach a person, each with one view of the evidence and one place to confirm.

Why you can trust it

  • Read-only first: ApexAI connects to your security tools without write access, and its connectors refuse write calls in code.
  • Human approval for change: containment, blocking and any change on your systems require a person’s approval.
  • Observe before act: every new capability starts in observe mode, then a limited trial, then on, with a way back at each stage.
  • Audit trail: every conclusion, proposal and decision is recorded with who or what made it and why.
  • Your data stays with you: ApexAI runs in your environment and uses local models by default.
  • Honest uncertainty: when the evidence is not enough, a case says “not concluded” and lists what would settle it.

Questions

Does an autonomous SOC replace my analysts?

No. It takes over routine triage and investigation so analysts spend their time on the decisions that need judgement. People keep approval over any change to your systems and review a sample of what ApexAI handled alone.

Can ApexAI change my systems on its own?

No. Response actions are prepared as proposals. Each type of action has to be switched on deliberately, and each execution needs a person’s approval, with an audit record and a way to undo it.

Does my security data leave my environment?

ApexAI is deployed in your environment and uses local models by default. Sending anything to an outside service is off unless you decide otherwise.

How do we know its conclusions are right?

Every conclusion carries its evidence and reasoning, and ApexAI’s results are compared with your analysts’ settled outcomes before any step is automated. You can see where it agrees and where it does not.
